Teacher for a Day!

I´ve always loved English, especially since the 9th Grade, and I also like to communicate with others so, when my former English teacher Palma Gonçalves offered me the opportunity to be working with her in one of her 8th Grade classes, I couldn’t say no.

To be honest I wasn’t sure if it was a real offer, but I decided to take it seriously and face the challenge of being a “Teacher for a Day”, although I was becoming a bit nervous, since I wasn´t sure if I was up to the task. The kids were amazing, they welcomed me as part of the class and they were open to the activities suggested.

This experience was beneficial to me because it made me realise I can do it and feel what it’s like to help the kids learn and grow as well. On the other hand, it made me understand better the pressure teachers have to deal with, when the students look at you as if you had all the answers in the world.

It was super fun; I can’t wait to do it again!

This is your new teacher!”

Palma Gonçalves e 8ºA.
